Job Description: Martha Bowman Church is seeking an Assistant Pastor of Contemporary Ministry and Worship. The Assistant Pastor will be responsible for leading our Contemporary Worship Music Team on Sunday mornings, preaching and teaching within the life of the church, and fostering outreach and discipleship opportunities for young adults and families at Martha Bowman Church.
Martha Bowman Church is located in beautiful Macon, Georgia, a city steeped in history, music, culture and tradition. Macon is home to great public and private schools and three college universities. Job Title: Minister of Discipleship
Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated Minister of Discipleship to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about guiding individuals in their spiritual journey, fostering a sense of community, and providing support and mentorship to help children, youth and adults grow in their faith.
Duties
Coordinates and unifies the education activities of the church into an integrated and effective ministry for spiritual growth across all members and generations
Recruits, trains, and encourages a team of ministry volunteers
Develops one-to-one relationships with children, youth, and their families to help them grow as Christian believers
Conducts outreach to children and youth through home calls and campus contacts and coordinates church evangelism ministry so that others might come to know Christ and to follow Him
Organizes seasonal ministries and special events throughout the year, including Confirmation classes, Bible presentations, graduation recognition, spiritual retreats, summer activities, and mission trips
Participates in worship services, including reading and teaching the Word of God
Develops an annual budget for assigned ministries and serves as good steward of financial resources
Provides pastoral care to members and their families when experiencing crisis moments
Required Skills
Proficient in conflict management and resolution within a religious context
Experienced in event planning for spiritual growth activities and community-building events
Excellent communication skills to effectively convey teachings, provide support, and engage with congregants
Skilled in crisis intervention to offer emotional and spiritual guidance during challenging times
Capable of educating others on biblical principles, theology, and spiritual practices
Knowledgeable in Christian counseling techniques to offer guidance and support to individuals facing personal struggles
Strong writing skills for creating sermons, educational materials, and pastoral communications
Proficient in public speaking to deliver engaging and impactful messages during services and events
A heart for mentoring individuals to help them deepen their faith and relationship with God

Qualifications
Successful candidate must have a proven track record in the area of Christian education and family ministry
Master of Divinity or equivalent preferred
Full-Connection Deacon or Elder in the Global Methodist Church preferred

Job Title: Family & Education Director
Job Description: The Family & Education Director will work to create a cohesive programming and educational plan to ensure the spiritual growth and development of families, children and youth at Skidaway Island Methodist Church. The Family & Education Director will work in collaboration with existing full-time Youth Director and part-time Children's Director.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Children's Director to select, implement a curriculum for Children's Church and lead age level appropriate classes, with a specific focus on older elementary children.
- Collaborate with the Youth Director to select and implement curriculum for middle school and senior high youth; be present and available to lead youth programming, small groups and fellowship events as needed.
- Orchestrate community outreach programs, service opportunities and fellowship programs for families, children, youth and adults with an aim to grow SIMC's church body.
- Recruit and train volunteers to serve in vital ministry roles with children and youth.
- Serve as an integral part of the ministry team with leadership, vision and team building.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and previous ministry experience
- A strong desire to share the Christian faith and serve within a church setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with other ministry departments
- Ability to oversee a staff of employees and volunteers
