South Georgia Conference Announces Rich Wardwell as Executive Officer

June 1, 2023 — The South Georgia Annual Conference of the Global Methodist Church (SGAGMC) is pleased to announce the hire of Rev. Rich Wardwell as the Executive Officer for the conference.

Wardwell has more than 30 years of experience in the software engineering field including nearly 18 years in operations management and leadership. Rich has recently served Antioch Church in Adel, Georgia as senior pastor and is ordained in the Global Methodist Church. Wardwell is a graduate of the University of Georgia Business School and is nearing the completion of his M.Div at Asbury Theological Seminary.

“I feel blessed to have the opportunity to serve in this new expression of Methodism in South Georgia and to assist from its earliest stages,” said Rich Wardwell. “I believe that God has a wonderful plan for His people who call themselves Methodists and seek an orthodox and traditional Wesleyan understanding, desiring to make disciples for Jesus Christ.”

Wardwell will be responsible for the organizational support of the conference and its churches, including the creation of a clergy and church database and management of conference records, overseeing financial aspects of the conference, preparing and implementing Annual Conference events, guiding lay and clergy leadership development, communication, and assisting the various leadership teams of the Annual Conference.

The SGAGMC is excited for the continued growth and establishment of the Global Methodist Church in Georgia and its mission to make disciples of Jesus Christ who worship passionately, love extravagantly, and witness boldly.
