What are your experiences and areas of service that you believe will be valuable in your role as a General Conference delegate?

I was Consecrated as a Diaconal Minister ((Lay Ministry) in 1978 while serving the Kentucky Methodist Home for Children and Youth (8 years). I served for 7 years as Chairperson of the Board of Diaconal Ministry and Chairperson of Board of my local church. I retired in 2013 after serving The Methodist Home of South Georgia as President/ CEO. Among other Conference related experiences are serving 8 years as Chair on the Board of Diaconal Ministry, 8 years on Board of Ordained ministry, Macon District Lay Leader under Bishop Hancock, elected to 3 General Conferences, 6 SEJ Conferences including the last SEJ conference which was sad and tragic for all Traditional Methodist. This conference affirmed that separation was absolutely necessary.

I have served in most all local church activities including teaching Sunday School, mission trips and small group Bible Studies.

Describe why you believe that God has potentially called you to serve as a General Conference delegate.

AnsweMy Calling has been to serve children in need for my entire professional career. For 37 years this has been within the Methodist Church. I have loved the church since I was baptized at age 12. Since the 1970s I have seen and lamented the steady eroding of our Denomination as it allowed itself to follow culture and compromised the authority of scripture. For those who will be elected to this inaugural General Conference it will be one without the conflict, trauma and chaos experienced over the last 40 years. I celebrate our commitment to restore our denomination and the Call we have to Make Disciples for our Lord Jesus Christ.
