Pat McGlone
Nashville Methodist Church
What are your experiences and areas of service that you believe will be valuable in your role as a General Conference delegate?
I have served in the church for several decades as a lay professional, mostly in youth ministry and children's ministry. Currently, I serve as Family Ministry Director. My experiences as a lay professional have allowed me the privilege of working in all areas of the church, from preaching on Sunday morning (occasionally) to making the tea for Wednesday Night Supper (every week). My experience has helped me to see the church from lots of angles and given me a desire to see the church thrive, to become the inexplicably loving, ever graceful body of Christ. I feel that the Global Methodist is poised to set the church right and would love to be a part of helping to lay the foundation for that.
Describe why you believe that God has potentially called you to serve as a General Conference delegate.
I believe God may be calling me to a General Conference Delegate because of my level of excitement for being a part of this historic event. I look forward to doing the work, as extensive as it may be, that would help the GMC lay the foundation toward being a loving, grace-filled force for Christ in our world. I look forward to working together with others, having the hard conversations, looking for resolutions to make that happen.
In addition, I see this work as an act of worship. Another chance for me and all other delegates to come together and do this work to say, "I love You too."
