I believe I have a solid understanding of the issues and opportunities the GMC is facing, and I believe I know the pulse of God's people in SGA and I believe this would help me be an effective delegate to represent us at the 2024 GMC GC.

Describe why you believe that God has potentially called you to serve as a General Conference delegate.

Several years ago, I was invited to participate in a meeting in Atlanta with 30 people from around the world representing a variety of different “conservative Methodist movements”. Over the course of our meetings, the Holy Spirit moved in our hearts and set us free from territorialism, egos and agendas and brought us together with a unified vision for launching the GMC.

Later a smaller group was selected to help form, launch, and oversee the GMC until our Convening General Conference. I was invited to serve on this Transitional Leadership Council (TLC) and have continued to meet with these people from around the world every Monday for several years now.

I wondered why God gave me favor with all these great leaders from around the world. It quickly become clear God was using me to balance this new movement. When anything starts in response to something else there is a natural tendency to over correct, to initially swing too far. I believe God has and is utilizing my voice as a respected and proven entrepreneur and church planter to help this new movement embrace change and break new ground, while not throwing the baby out with the bath water by overcompensating. I am a change agent for sure, but I also bring wisdom and experience from our great tradition to the table.

Ultimately, my calling is to “help people hear and respond to God’s call on their lives”. During this season God has enabled me to help a denomination hear and respond to God’s call and it has been a privilege to do so. We needed trusted leaders to get this started but now God is calling us to prepare the next generation for leadership in the GMC and I am excited to be a part of that process.
