What are your experiences and areas of service that you believe will be valuable in your role as a General Conference delegate?
Throughout my ministry, I have had the honor building ministries from the ground up. Whether it was being the founding president of a Christian Fraternity at UGA, or creating ministries in local churches, I have often been a part of creating a strong foundation for ministries that have stood the test of time. I believe I can be helpful in thinking through some of the hurdles of creating a strong foundation and growing as a young denomination. I also have the interesting experience of being born in the millennial generation while always staying true to my traditional orthodox convictions in my relationship with Christ and ministry in the church. This has given me opportunity to begin the ministry of reconciliation with a traditional conviction in a post Christian, post modern society.
Describe why you believe that God has potentially called you to serve as a General Conference delegate.
There are lots of wonderful candidates who would do a terrific job of representing our annual conference at the general conference. I feel called to offer my name as a possibility because I have always felt God's call to Christian service through servant leadership. Often times, people look for someone who can offer guidance, hope, joy and vision when things are going well and when things are particularly challenging. Whenever it it appropriate, I try to be someone that people can look to for guidance, hope, joy, vision, and perseverance in all situations. Additionally, throughout the last decade of ministry, I have heard countless times that the stereotype of traditional expressions of Methodism is that of an older generation. I am proud that the Global Methodist Church is a multigenerational community of people doing the best they can to love and serve God as we love and serve people. I have been richly blessed by friends and mentors of older generations who have a wealth of wisdom that comes from decades of ministry. I am honored to offer myself as a representative of the younger generation who is eager to learn, serve, and lead as The Global Methodist Church engages in effective ministry now and in the countless generations to follow.
