The Chapel
What are your experiences and areas of service that you believe will be valuable in your role as a General Conference delegate?
I have served on the Board of Directors for The Chapel for 7 years. A number of these years were during our discussions about potential disaffiliation. This time involved gaining a better understanding of the UMC issues of concern and working to find the best path forward for our church and membership.
Additionally, I have extensive experience reviewing, revising, and creating policies and procedures in both my professional life and numerous volunteering opportunities. This work has included performing audits/reviews, providing recommendations, and assisting in developing best practices – all of which would be valuable as a conference delegate.
Describe why you believe that God has potentially called you to serve as a General Conference delegate.
I believe that my training, my work, my attention to detail, my community service, and my love for our church has led me to committing further to serve and do my small part in the formation of the Global Methodist Church. I feel the Lord has continued to encourage me into service and that I would be an asset to serve as a delegate to the General Conference. After spending time in prayer, having discussions with my wife, and seeking counsel from my pastor, Jay Hanson, I am stepping out by offering myself as a potential delegate.
