What are your experiences and areas of service that you believe will be valuable in your role as a General Conference delegate?
I have been a member of Kingsland First for the 36 years. I am currently the Finance Chair and serving on the Church Council. I have previously served on the Staff Parish Relations Committee, the Lay Leadership Committee, the Task Force on Disaffiliation providing information to our congregation as we discerned disaffiliation. I am also a member of our church choir and help lead a Sunday School Class and member of the Methodist Women.
In my roles as Finance Chair and as part of the Church Council I have helped our church navigate the transition to a Global Methodist Church In addition I am part of the Communication committee assisting in ensuring information is delivered to the congregation. My knowledge of our church enables me to make wise and discerned decisions for our church and I believe this knowledge will assist me in being an valued Lay Delegate for the South Georgia Conference.
Describe why you believe that God has potentially called you to serve as a General Conference delegate.
To be perfectly honest I was asked to consider applying to be a Lay Delegate. I feel honored to be asked by my church and with God's leading to be part of the Global Methodist Church and this historic General Conference. What a joy it would be to be the hands and feet of Christ as important decisions are made in the life of the Global Methodist Church internationally and for the Annual Conference I represent.
